Hamas Terrorists to Join Fatah's PA Forces?

As if the Fatah wasn't a terrorist force also - just a patient one biding its time.

A senior Fatah official says that if Fatah and Hamas reconcile, Hamas terrorists will be granted PA protection. The official, Gaza-based Faisal Abu Shahla, also indicated that Hamas terrorists would be included in PA armed forces.

In an interview with the Bethlehem-based Maan news agency, Abu Shahlah said that when it comes to security under a Fatah-Hamas unity deal, Fatah is “protecting resistance which is committed to the political decision.” The word “resistance” is the term PA leaders use to refer to terrorism against Israel.

“We refuse to politicize the security men who should work on a professional basis,” he said. The promise not to “politicize” Hamas' armed forces appeared to be a reference to their inclusion in the overall PA armed forces if Hamas were to rejoin the PA leadership.

Shahlah's remarks were made in response to Hamas leaders' concern over a proposed Egyptian unity deal. Hamas leaders had said they were worried for the safety of their armed terrorist factions if they were to reconcile with Fatah.

Hamas and Fatah agreed to jointly control the PA in 2006, after Hamas' victory in the PA parliamentary elections. However, the two groups split in the summer of 2007 when Hamas seized control of Gaza in a bloody coup.

In the following years Arab leaders made efforts to reconcile the two groups, and Fatah and Hamas leaders met to talk. The two factions continue to trade charges of violence, with each group accusing the other of unfairly detaining and torturing its members

Britain Signs 'Treaty Between Nations' with Palestinian authority

Absolutely pathetic.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague signed a “treaty between nations” with Palestinian Authority leaders on Wednesday. “This agreement is the first ever bilateral treaty between the two nations,” the British Consulate-General site proclaimed.

The treaty covers cooperation in the film industry. Hague signed a similar agreement with Israel.

Aside from its reference to the “treaty between nations,” the UK Consulate site also referred to Hague's trip to visit PA leaders in Ramallah as “his first visit to Palestine,” apparently recognizing a new country of “Palestine” before even PA leaders have declared one to exist.

PA leaders, backed by the Arab world, say that Arabs from Judea, Samaria, Gaza, and within Israel share the unique “Palestinian” nationality and must have a country of their own – Palestine – in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Some leaders hold the view, disseminated in PA media, that all of Israel is rightfully “Palestine.”

According to past treaties between Israel and the PA, any new Arab state in Judea and Samaria must be created through negotiations, and not unilateral declarations. PA leaders have threatened in recent months to bypass the treaties and go to the United Nations in order to get international recognition of a new state without talking through issues such as borders or security arrangements with Israel.

Journalist Uri Elitzur warned in September that the PA may be feigning interest in negotiations in order to get international agreement on borders without any obligation to compromise on other issues, such as security or the PA demand for the “right of return,” which would see millions of foreign Arabs granted Israeli citizenship.

Judenrein in Palestine

Ahead of the Arab League's conditional endorsement of direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told reporters in Cairo that he hoped an agreement would be reached that included the establishment of a PA state within the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital and a solution to the problem of the families of Arabs who left Israel when the modern Jewish state was born.

Abu-Mazen said he was willing to have an international force such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), but added, "I will never agree that there be Jewish soldiers in NATO, and I will never agree that there will be a single Israeli among us on Palestinian soil."

And there you go ladies and gentlemen. For all Jews of the liberal persuasion, how does that sound to you?

Here's what I say - There never has been, is not now, and will never be a nation of "palestine".

The Lubavitcher Rebbe on surrender of the Land

The following is an excerpt from a letter written in 5741, over 29 years ago. It's logic is possibly more applicable to today's situation than it even was back then. May Prime Minister Netanyahu add this jewel to his Shabbat studies and be strengthened in his resolve to do the right thing in G-d's eyes rather than the nations.

"I am completely and unequivocally opposed to the surrender of any of the liberated areas currently under negotiation, such as Yehudah and Shomrom, the Golan, etc., for the simple reason, and only reason, that surrendering any part of them would contravene a clear Psak-Din (ruling) in Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chayim, section 329, par. 6,7). I have repeatedly emphasized that this Psak-Din has nothing to do with the sanctity of Eretz Yisra'el, or the "days of Mashiach", the Geulah, and similar considerations, but solely with the rule of Pikuach-Nefesh (danger to life). This is further emphasized by the fact that this Psak-Din has its source in the Talmud (Eruvin 45a), where the Gemora cites as an illustration of a border town under the terms of this Psak-Din - the city of Neharde'a in Babylon (present day Iraq) - clearly not in Eretz Yisra'el. I have emphasized time and time again that it is a question of, and should be judged purely on the basis of, Pikuach-Nefesh, not geography.

The said Psak-Din deals with a situation where gentiles (the term is גוים  , not enemies) besiege a Jewish border-town, ostensibly to obtain "straw and hay," and then leave. But because of the possible danger, not only to the Jews of the town, but also to other cities, the Shulchan Aruch rules that upon receiving news of the gentiles (even only preparations), the Jews must mobilize immediately and take up arms even on Shabbos - in accordance with the rule that "Pikuach-Nefesh supersedes Shabbos."

Should there be a question whether the risk does in fact create a situation of Pikuach-Nefesh, then - as in the case of illness, where a medical authority is consulted - the authority to make a judgment is vested in the military experts. If military experts decide that there is a danger of Pikuach-Nefesh, there could be no other overriding considerations, since Pikuach-Nefesh overrides everything else. Should the military experts declare that while there is such a risk, yet it should be taken for some other reason, such as political considerations (good will of the gentiles) this would clearly be contrary to the Psak-Din, for the Psak-Din requires that Pikuach-Nefesh, not political expediency, should be the decisive factor.

Now in regard to the liberated areas, all military experts, Jewish and non-Jewish, agree that in the present situation giving up any part of them would create serious security dangers. No one says that giving up any part of them would enhance the defensibility of the borders. But some military experts are prepared to take a chance in order not to antagonize Washington and/or to improve the "international image," etc. To follow this line would not only go against the clear Psak-Din, but would also ignore costly lessons of the past. One glaring case in point is "the Yom-Kippur War." Days and hours before the attack, there were urgent sessions of the government discussing the situation with the military. Military intelligence pointed to unmistakable evidence that an Egyptian attack was imminent, and the military experts advised a preemptive strike that would save many lives and prevent an invasion. However, the politicians, with the acquiescence of some military experts, rejected this action on the ground that such a step, or even a general mobilization, before the Egyptians actually crossed the border, would mean being branded as the aggressor, and would jeopardize relations with the USA. This decision was contrary to the said Psak-Din of the Shulchan Aruch, as pointed out above. The tragic results of that decision bore out the validity of the Shulchan Aruch's position (as if it were necessary), for many lives were needlessly sacrificed, and the situation came close to total disaster, but for G-d's mercies. Suffice it to mention that the then Prime Minister later admitted that all her life she would be haunted by that tragic decision.

I know, of course, that there are Rabbis who are of the opinion that in the present situation, as they see it, it would be permissible from the viewpoint of the Shulchan Aruch to return areas from Eretz Yisra'el. But it is also known on what information they based this view. The argument is that the present situation is not identical with the hypothetical case of a state of "being besieged by gentiles." A second argument is that the present surrendering of some areas would not endanger lives.

That these arguments are based on misinformation is patently clear. The Arab neighbors are prepared militarily; what is more, they do demand that these areas are theirs to keep, and openly declare that if not surrendered voluntarily, they will take them by force, and eventually everything else. A Rabbi who says that the said Psak-Din of the Shulchan Aruch does not apply in the present situation is completely misinformed on what the situation actually is...

I was taken to task for placing so much emphasis on the security of Eretz Yisra'el, the arguments being that what has protected the Jewish people during the long Galus has been the study of Torah and the practice of Mitzvos; hence Torah-observant Jews should not make the inviolability of Eretz Yisra'el as the overriding cause. I countered that they missed the point, for my position has nothing to do with Eretz Yisra'el as such, but with the Pikuach-Nefesh of the Jews living there - which would apply to any part of the world.

It is said that my pronouncements on the issues are more political than Rabbinic. Inasmuch as the matter has to do with Pikuach-Nefesh, it is surely the duty of every Jew, be he Rabbi or layman, to do all permitted by the Shulchan Aruch to help forestall - or, at any rate, minimize - the danger. In a case of Pikuach-Nefesh, every possible effort must be made, even if there is ספק   (doubt) and many doubts whether the effort will succeed.

Hizbullah placing explosive charges next to schools and hospitals

Hizbullah is placing military positions, weapons and explosive charges next to schools and hospitals in southern Lebanon, a senior IDF source said Wednesday. The IDF may have to take action against these targets in case of hostilities with Hizbullah, and has said as much to the UN force in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL).

US National Aeronautics and Space Administration sets its new foremost mission

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.

Recent UK ruling reveals where things are headed

As if we haven't had enough warnings from recent world events, here's this little jewel from the UK:

UK factory saboteurs acquitted

1

A group of activists who broke into an arms factory near Brighton last year and caused damage costing around £180,000 ($275,000) were found not guilty last week of causing criminal damage. In a lawsuit filed in October, seven British activists claimed they were legally justified to break in and sabotage the factory of EDO MBM Technology near Brighton, on the south coast of England, in January 2009, at the time of Operation Cast Lead.

Believing that the company was violating export license regulations and sending arms components to Israel, the activists, from a group called Smash EDO, said they wanted to “slow down” the manufacture of components that were allegedly being sold to the Jewish state. The protesters threw computers and file cabinets out of the factory windows and smashed machinery using hammers, claiming they were seeking to prevent “Israeli war crimes in Gaza.”

Judge George Bathurst-Norman told the jury: “You may well think that hell on earth would not be an understatement of what the Gazans suffered in that time.”EDO managing director Paul Hills denied in court that the company supplied components to Israel but said it did make parts for F-16 fighter planes.

Judge George Bathurst-Norman said that, despite Hill’s denials, it was clear that there was enough evidence to the contrary and that the certificates required for arms export licenses were “not worth the paper they are written on,” as they can be easily manipulated.

According to The Guardian, the judge highlighted the testimony by Green Party MP and anti-Israel activist Caroline Lucas, who had tried to justify the action by saying, “All democratic paths had been exhausted and, crucially, that their actions were driven by the responsibility to prevent further suffering in Gaza.”

Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor said this was not a great time for the United Kingdom’s justice system.“After reading the judge’s statement, there is no doubt that this is not a great era of the British justice system.

I assume that Sderot’s children, who have lived under thousands of missiles, for years, will be able to enlighten the judge as to the meaning of “hell on earth.“I am convinced that the judge would have ruled differently had he been sitting in the Sderot youth cultural center, rather than on Brighton’s sunny shores,” the ambassador said.

There have been plenty of messages in other countries as well, including the US. No justice - extenuating circumstances which require a "judge" to rule completely against the evidence and rule of law because they are trying to prevent a contrived event that hasn't happened yet. I can think of many events that can fit this model. If you are reading this from another country, you really need to sit up and take notice. Stop denying to yourself that which you know to be true in your heart. It's time to come home.

Left wing American lobbyists orchestrate Anti-Israel campaign paid for by Qatari ruler's wife

An American communications firm best known for shaping the liberal Moveon.org into a national movement has tackled a new project: orchestrating an international anti-Israel campaign aimed at breaking the blockade of the Gaza strip.

Fenton Communications, which has offices in Washington, D.C., New York, and San Francisco, signed two contracts last year with Qatar to develop “a communications action plan for an 18-month campaign” aimed at delegitimizing Israel and generating international support for the Hamas-run Gaza strip, documents filed with the Department of Justice show.

The campaign, known as the “Al Fakhoora Project,” has a very visible Web presence that boasts of rallying 10,000 activists “against the blockade on Gaza.”

Fenton signed the contracts, worth more than $390,000, with the Office of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, the wife of the Qatari ruler, and a separate foundation she chairs. The contracts are ongoing, according to Fenton’s Foreign Agent registration forms.

U.S. diplomats in the region view the elegant sheikha as a “progressive” force in Qatar, who has partnered in the past with U.S. AID and other U.S. government agencies on projects involving education, women’s rights, and the arts.

Fenton’s Al Fakhoora project is cleverly disguised as a campaign to help students in Gaza in the pursuit of a better education.

One of the documents filed with the Department of Justice describes Al Fakhoora as a “student-led campaign to protect education from violence during war or conflicts, specifically in Gaza, and to lead an international public opinion awareness campaign that advocates for the accountability of those who participated in attacks on schools in Gaza.”

Robert Perez, the Fenton executive in charge of both accounts who is based in San Francisco, did not return repeated messages from Newsmax.

Blockades, settlements and other obstacles to true peace

Now that I have your attention, none of those are the obstacles. Read on for for the root of the problem.

The Lebanese parliament has postponed voting on a bill that would grant civil rights to descendants of Arab refugees by one month after postponing it for the last 62 years. The refugees in question are those descended from Arabs who fled pre-state Israel during the War of Independence.

Shamali_zinco_street
via photos.cmaq.net       (Burj el-Shemali is a Palestinian refugee camp located in Southern Lebanon on the outskirts of the city of Tyre. Upwards of 20 000 refugees reside in the camp, which is one of Lebanon's most impoverished camps. Burj el-Shemali like other camps in the southsuch as Rashidieh Camp is home to cases of extreme poverty, thousands of camp residents are essentially homeless, residing in make-shift shelters with zinc roofing, without basic plumbing, water supply and little income. The refugees residing in Burj el-Shemali were forced from their homeland Palestine through the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. Burj el-Shemali camp is a deteriorating ghetto as many of the housing structures within the camp remain destroyed after the 15 year civil-war. Lebanese military check-points which surround the camp prohibit refugees from bringing construction materials into the camp.)

More than 400,000 such descendants are registered as refugees with UNRWA in Lebanon, comprising approximately 10% of the country's population. They are still not allowed to work in most professions or to own property and thus preserve their refugee status, using it to pressure Israel in the UN and world media.

The original refugees left Israel in 1948 when promised by Arab leaders that they would return after a quick victory against the fledgling Jewish state. Since this did not occur, the refugees remained where they were, some coming under Israeli sovereignty as a result of the 1967 Six Day War, when once again the Arab nations vowed to destroy Israel and failed.

Arab countries have consistently refused to integrate the refugees into their respective countries, causing a boom in "refugee" demographics as time went on. Their children and grandchildren continue to be termed refugees by the UN, whereas untold millions of non Arab refugees have been resettled and rehabilitated by that same body and host countries all over the world during the same period..

The debate over whether or not to grant refugees civil rights turned into a stormy debate between Muslims and Christians in Lebanon's parliament.  Muslim Mps supported the bill, as did Lebanese Prime Minister Sa'ad al-Hariri.

"Should we deprive Palestinian refugees in Palestinian camps of their rights, so that they become terrorists in the future?” Hariri asked. Refugee camps in Lebanon have provided a fertile ground for terrorist groups for decades. In 2007, the group Fatah al-Islam waged war on the Lebanese army in the Nahr al-Bared camp; more than 400 people were killed and the village largely destroyed.

Christians in both the coalition and opposition opposed the rights bill, arguing that it could lead to refugees become naturalized Lebanese. Sami Gemayel of the Phalange party said the bill was unconstitutional. Lebanon's constitution prohibits “non-Lebanese” from settling in the country.

If the refugees became Lebanese citizens, they would greatly increase the country's Sunni Muslim population, potentially upsetting the fragile sectarian balance.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization said in a statement that it supports Lebanon's right to choose how to treat refugees. “Approving Palestinian rights is a private Lebanese concern before being a Palestinian necessity and it's in no way linked to naturalization,” the PLO said.

Refugees and their supporters have decided to hold demonstrations on June 27 to demand civil rights. Participants will march on the Parliament building in Beirut. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

If the nations & peoples surrounding Israel really wanted peace, they could have had it long ago. It is just not their goal. Nobody seems to care what the true roots of the problem are.
